First Soweto Alumni League of Public Schools Meeting

Who can attend

All people, of all ages, who are graduates of the primary and secondary public schools based in Soweto.

Purpose of the meeting

The Batho Pele Convention, a new non-partisan, independent social movement, is inaugurating one of its flagship programs: the Alumni League of Public Schools, in Soweto.

ALPS seeks to bring together all graduates of the public schools system into a permanent, membership-based chapter. Each chapter will include approximately 200 public schools in a given area. Each member will contribute R3,000 per annum. The contributions will then be used to support infrastructure renovations of public schools within the chapter.

This meeting is the first of this initiative, to inaugurate an ALPS in Soweto, with the aim of piloting the initiative before it is taken across the country.

Accordingly, all who agree with the above, or want to learn more, and have their primary and secondary schooling roots in Soweto, are welcome to attend.
